History

Gnomes have been part of Floriade for many years.  Over the past few years, the Rotary Club of Canberra East has been managing the Gnome Knoll, selling the gnomes, providing painting facilities on the knoll and managing the competition.  Proceeds from this program go towards community projects run by Rotary Club of Canberra East and include:

The training of indigenous health workers
        Swags for the Homeless
Purchase of a horse for Pegasus riding for the disabled
Assistance to supporting women and girls in Nepal to improve their skills through education and training
Upgrading the Rotary Captain Cook Park in Griffith
        Support of Youth programs
        Supporting Rotary's Polio Eradication program.

We now have boy gnomes & girl gnomes for $13, and large gnomes for $75 each.  Each gnome (or group of gnomes) entered will need an entry form.

This year sees the return of the Floriade Corporate & Diplomatic Gnome. This is an opportunity for the Canberra Diplomatic  and Business communities to make a significant contribution through the Floriade Gnomes program. Over the past few years many Embassies and businesses  have purchased Gnomes and made a great show.  For the cost of $250 you will receive a large gnome, a standard size boy and girl gnome, the paint and brushes to decorate your gnomes. Additional gnomes can also be purchased, both large and standard to suit your company's requirements.   To order please click on the link and download the order form.
