Support for Youth at Risk. For many years the Club has supported the students at Quamby Youth Detention Centre and now at Bimberi, through a monthly prize based on goal achievement, mentoring, other support and providing gifts at Christmas.
The work undertaken at Bimberi aims to resolve the problems the children have had that led to incarceration and to set them up with education and job skills to minimise the recidivism.
The program has been very successful with the incidence of reoccurrence reduced markedly. The children enjoy the chance to interact with adults who are not part of their general program, and who are supportive and non-judgemental.
